wonderful words

The surprise had to be overwhelming! There was nothing to look forward to but death and whatever lay beyond. One could hope that the sins committed here would somehow not count on the “other side”, but there was no assurance this would be so.

So thought the man who would soon find himself crucified alongside the redeemer, the darling son of God.

What was the surprise? It was what had to  be the sweetest words a man ever heard.

Your life can change in a moments time. Sometimes for the worst, and sometimes, when you’re expecting the worst, for the better.

32 And there were also two other, malefactors, led with him to be put to death. 33 And when they were come to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Now hear the confession: “ Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? 41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. 42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.”

Now the beautiful, surprise! 43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.

Jesus died that day voluntarily for your and my sin. It’s recorded for you in a book never proven wrong. Will you join that thief, a confessed sinner, in calling on him? The thief was there. He believed. He “hit the jackpot”! Wonder what’s on the other side? There’s only one person you can trust, and that’s Jesus Christ. What wonderful words….”To day shalt thou be with me in paradise!”
